CLINICAL APPROACH TO THE RED EYE

Anterior Uveitis:

Inflammation of the anterior uvea, or iris and/or ciliary body

Etiology:

Frequently idiopathic, but certain ocular and systemic diseases may be the underlying cause

Signs & Symptoms:

	Periocular achy pain, photophobia, normal or blurred vision
	Cilliary flush
	Hypopion (yellow-white purulent anterior chamber)

Treatment:

Opthalmologic referral
