Blepharitis:

Common inflammatory lesion affecting eyelid margins.

Etiology:

bulletusually caused by normal ocular flora, especially Staphylococcus
bulletcan be associated with Rosacea

Signs & Symptoms:

bulleteyelash crusting
bulletinflamed lid margins
bulletburning, foreign body sensation

Treatment:

bulletwarm compresses, lid hygiene
bulletmild antibiotic ointment to margin
bulletsystemic Tetracycline, Erythromycin
